The Bronze Rod is a great starting rod in the game and can be obtained from smelting 
Copper Ores and 
Tin Ores into 
Bronze Bars then smithing the bars into reels at the anvil inside Smithing Hub in Brightleaf and craft it in Rod Crafting table or bought from the Merchant.
CRAFTING
You can craft fishing rods in Rod Crafting table located above the Brightleaf Merchant.
